Three-day Ayaam International Women’s Film Festival kick started at NFAI

Pune, March 6, 2020: The 11th edition of the prestigious ‘Ayaam International Women’s Film Festival’ kick started today at National Film Archive of India (NFAI). The 3 day festival is organized by Ayaam- A group of women journalists in Pune, NFAI and Ashay Film Club. It is supported by the Alliance Française de Pune.

The festival was inaugurated by renowned actress Varsha Usgaonkar. In the same programme, Karuna Puri Journalist was felicitated with the ‘Ayaam Women Journalism Award’ at the hands of actress Varsha Usgaonkar.

Members of Ayaam including Namrata Phadnis, Manaswini Prabhune, Megha Shimpi, Prachi Bari, Swati Jarande and aparna Degaonkar along with Satish Jakatdar, Supriya Chitrav of Ashay Film Club and Prakash Magdum, Director, NFAI were present among the dignitaries. Usgaonkar who complited 30 years in the industy was felicited. Wich was followed by an interesting Tete-e-tete with Varsha Usgaonkar held the audience captive. The movie ‘Mahanati’ directed by Nag Ashwin was shown as the opening film of the festival.
