Pune, January 6, 2020: After several protests and inconveniences to people, Khed-Shivapur toll plaza is expected to move beyond Bhor.

Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram on January 4 issued a letter to the Chief Manager of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in this regard.

According to the district administration, PS Toll Road Pvt. (Reliance) Company operates the toll plaza at Khed Shivapur, about 25 km from Pune, on Pune-Satara National Highway. The area has been included in the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The highway is used by the citizens and farmers , and toll recovery is done even though a large number of works are pending. Due to this, citizens suffer needlessly and also there is often traffic congestion on the highway.

For this reason, there was an all-out agitation at the Khed Shivapur toll plaza earlier. At that time, the representatives of the people promised to remove the toll plaza from Khed-Shivapur. Various organizations including local residents, representatives of the people and Sambhaji Brigade demanded to move the toll plaza. Accordingly, the district collector sent a letter to the NHAI.

Bhor Congress MLA Sangram Thopate on Saturday demanded that the Khed Shivapur toll be shifted outside the Bhor border area.
