Soon parking facility for 1000 cars to be built at Pune airport

Pune, January 2, 2019: In a commitment to create better passenger facility and world class infrastructure today at Pune Airport, Bhoomi Poojan ceremony of Multi Level Car Parking facility (MLCP) was performed today by Girish Bapat, Chairman, Pune Airport Advisory Committee & Member of Parliament, Pune.

Amar Sable, Member of Rajya Sabha, Sunil Tingre, Member of Legislative Assembly, Wadgaon Sheri, Pune and Airport Director, Airports Authority of India, Ajay Kumar, were present along with other stake holders, during the ceremony.

The proposed MLCP building with integrated commercial facilities consisting of about 50,000 sq.mtr, built-up area shall have 1000 nos. car parking facility. MLCP facility shall be directly connected with Terminal Building-I Departure area through a sky bridge for easy departure and arrival. Completion time for the project is 24 months. The project is being developed by M/s. Pebbles Infra-Tech Pvt. Ltd., Pune, on Design Built Operate & Maintain (DBOM) basis.

Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting held

To make Pune Airport user friendly from the point of view of passenger amenities, in our commitment to provide enhanced passenger facilitation, today, i.e. 2 nd January, 2020, Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting was scheduled. The meeting was called under the Chairmanship of Girish Bapat, MP & Chairman, AAC along with Amar Sable, Member of Rajya Sabha, Sunil Tingre, Member of Legislative Assembly, Wadgaon Sheri, Pune and Ajay Kumar, Airport Director, AirportsAuthority of India.

The other dignitaries from various fields viz., PMC Commissioner, State Police, State Administration, Indian Air Force, Defence Estate Office, CISF, Trade, Travel, Airlines, Hotels, MCCIA, Nominated Members of MOCA, and Shantilal G Muttha, Chairman of Muttha Group of Companies, were also present.

The various issues related to Pune Municipal Corporation/ State Government with respect to land requirements, road development, water supply, relocation of Police Chowky, were discussed at length. Issues with respect to Indian Air Force likeWorking permission for alternate road connectivity to Viman Nagar, Handing over of BSO Yard/CWE Office land, allotment of slots for aircraft operations and relocation of transmitter gate, were also discussed in the meeting.

Bapat informed that as this is the teamwork, every concerned Office has its sole responsibility to take the initiative to solve the issues with continuous follow up with the related Department so as to bring solutions to the problem at the earliest and give public best facilities and make Pune one of the best city with all the developed infrastructure.
