Pune : Kidnapped 5 year old girl rescued from Solapur by Pune police

Pune, November 18, 2019: Within eight hours of a five year old girl’s missing case was reported, sleuths from the Vimantal police station, Pune city police, swung into action and rescued the girl from Solapur.

Police have identified the arrested accused women as Jayshree Shivaji Koli (26) and Hirabai alias Baydabai Khandale (52), both residents of Katrajgaon.

According to police, the five year old girl went missing from behind her house near Pride Ashiyana society in Lohegaon’s Nimbalkar Nagar. The incident took place between 3 pm to 3.30 pm. Her father who works with a house keeping firm, lodged a complaint on November 17.

The detection branch (DB) team led by PSI Anandrao Pingle under guidance of Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar and Police Inspector (crime) Balwant Mandge, examined CCTV footages. The team got leads and reached Bhavani Peth area of Solapur and rescued the minor girl.

According to police, Koli’s minor daughter had died three months ago. When she saw the girl she got emotional and treated her with icecream. Later she took her to Solapur to meet her husband. Khandale earlier lived in same area in Lohegaon. Both women are labourers. They were produced before a judicial magistrate court which sent them to jail under magistrate custody remand. Police sub inspector HS Giri is further investigating the case.

Add CP (East region) Sunil Phulari, DCP (Zone 4) Prasad Akkanouru, ACP (Yerwada division) Desai supervised the investigation team which included policemen Avinash Shewale, Vishal Gade, Vishwanath Gone, Sanjay Adhari, Rahul More, Vinod Mahajan, Prashant Kapure and Nana Karche.
