Eminent Potters create awareness about the art of ‘Studio Pottery’
Pune, September 13, 2019 : Reputed Potters and Ceramic Artists from different parts of the country have gathered together to create awareness about the art of Studio Pottery. The unique pottery exhibition titled ‘Pune Potters’ Market 2019’ organized by IGA Galleria kicked off today at The Pavilion on Senapati Bapat Road where the Potters are personally interacting with the people visiting the place and explaining how this art is different in nature.
The exhibition kicked off today and will go on till Sunday, September 15, in between 11am to 9pm daily. The entry to the exhibition is free and open for all. Beautiful clay pots, cups and mugs, decorative pieces of ceramic, fridge magnets, clay ornaments are attracting viewers’ attention in this exhibition. A special session for children to colour the Kulhads was also conducted today after the inauguration of the exhibition.
Potter Payal Garai said, ‘‘Studio Pottery is different than the regular pottery items that we easily get in the market. Studio Pottery articles are not mass produced and so they are just like the exclusive art pieces. We are reaching out to the art lovers, design students and people at large to spread awareness about this beautiful art and conducting exhibition at a public place is a wonderful platform to do that.’’
Sixteen reputed Potters and Ceramic Artists from all over India including Pune, Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Ahmedabad, Mangaon, Vijaywada and Pondicherry have participated in this exhibition.
