Pune cops chase robbers, recover Rs 10 lakhs looted cash

Pune, August 26, 2019 : Acting swiftly four alert police personnel of Pune city police chased two robbers and recovered Rs 10 lakhs looted cash on Monday evening.

Based on complaint from Rahul Khese of Saswad, an FIR has been registered with Yerwada police station arrested suspects Mahesh Mohan Patole (28) and Omkar Prakash Uttekar (24).

According to police, the incident took place around 5 pm. After collecting cash from various customers, Khese was going to his company office when the robbers, who had kept watch on him, caught him near the parking area no.3 in Sangamwadi. They snatched the cash bag and fled on a motorcycle. Khese shouted for help when the four policemen chased and nabbed the duo near Sadalbaba chowk, said senior police inspector Yunus Shaikh, in-charge of Yerwada police station.

The police personnel who caught the robbers are police naik Sushil Bendre of special protection unit (SPU) and assistant sub inspector Baburao Shevade, police naik Dhanashree Wankhede, constable Ganesh Thopte of Yerwada traffic division.
