Delhi, August 26 2019: With a vision to see India Litter Free, Ripu Daman Bevli (Founder of Ploggers of India) would embark on a 1000 km journey spanning across 50 states of India to clean up trash and make people aware about the hazardous impacts of single-use plastic.

In an attempt to make this a reality, Ripu Daman Bevli left his high flying job to get on the road and engage with people in a bid to make them a responsible citizen and pick up their own trash. Ripu single-handedly has been working hard towards achieving this goal from 2017 and has introduced the concept of Plogging in India, where a group of people collectively decide to clean up a place and get it rid of plastic waste. In the span of 2 years, Ploggers of India have successfully completed their initiative of cleaning up 21 cities in 300 drives.

This year Ripu would be trying to make this movement of being responsible for your own litter; a Pan India affair, where he would be heading the clean-up drive in different cities of India. He aims at making people aware of the other alternatives they have other than single-use plastic and how they can curb down on its usage. During the journey he will be collecting trash from the beaches of Goa to the hills in Jammu, from the Gangetic Plains to forts and famous monuments of India.

“I have a dream to make India litter Free. Run to Make India Litter Free is a culmination of 2 years of hard work, sweat, community building to reach every nook and corner of this country to turn this dream of Swachh and Swasth Bharat a reality” Ripu Daman said.

On August 30, 2019; RElan Run to Make India Litter Free will mark its day 0 in India Gate. and from there on goes north to Kochi to different parts of India. With this, Ripu wants to see his dream of seeing a Litter Free India turn into reality and hopes that people give up on using single use plastic in their daily life and take a step towards conservation of environment.
