Bihar : Bahubali MLA Anant Singh sent to  jail in AK-47 recovery case

Patna, Bihar, August 25, 2019 : Amid heavy security, independent MLA Anant Singh from Mokama was produced in the Barh Court in Patna district in connection with the recovery of AK-47 and hand grenade from his house. Patna police presented him in court on Sunday instead of Monday. After the hearing, Anant Singh was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. He has been sent to Beur Jail.

 

After taking his transit remand from Saket court in Delhi, Bihar Police brought the MLA by a GoAir flight to Patna. He was flown directly from Patna Airport. There was heavy security at the court premises.

 

Anant Singh was absconding since August 17 after AK 47 rifle, live cartridges and two hand grenades were recovered from the MLA’s old house. Later he released three videos and said that he is not absconding  and will surrender in court soon and that he does not trust the Bihar Police. Anant Singh later surrendered at Saket Court, Delhi on Friday. He spent Friday night in Tihar Jail. He was handed over to the Bihar Police after his re-appearance in Saket Court on Saturday.

 

 Meanwhile, his wife Neelam Devi alleged that police surrounded her house and did not allow her to move out of the house. She said that after learning that her husband is being brought to Patna, she wanted to have a glimpse of him, but the police did not let him get out of the house.
