Pune : Air Force School, KV 3 celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas

Pune, July 31, 2019 : The 1999 Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). In India, the conflict is also referred to as “Operation Vijay” which was the name of the Indian operation to clear the Kargil sector. The Kargil War came to an end on 26 Jul 1999 and this day is celebrated as victory day.

Air Force School Chandan Nagar & Kendriya Vidyalaya No.3 to foster patriotism among the students, took the initiative of organising motivational lecture, drawing and painting competition for children. A video was shown on Kargil War heroes and a motivational lecture was delivered by Senior Education Officer of 9 Base Repair Depot, Air Force.
On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, an Inter-School drawing and painting competition was also organised on 25 Jul 19. A large number of students from Air Force School Chandan Nagar and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 had participated in the competition. A presentation on Kargil War and its achievement was given in Jayawant Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (JSPM) College, Wagoli to make the students aware about the heroes of Kargil. As the citizens of India, we all should value the sacrifice of our brave soldiers who laid their life for the nation.
