MTDC and Pawan Hans Ltd. join hands to offer a spectacular aerial view of Mumbai for tourists

Mumbai, January 07th, 2016: Giving tourists a unique opportunity to explore Mumbai – the commercial capital and heart of Maharashtra, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) along with Pawan Hans Ltd. have formally launched Heli-Tourism. The inauguration will be done by Shri Swadheen Kshatriya (I.A.S) – Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, at 9:30 a.m. in presence of Smt. Valsa Nair Singh (IAS) Secretary Tourism & Cultural Affairs Government of Maharashtra, and the Heli-Tours will be open for tourists from 3 p.m. onwards today.

These joy rides are aimed to attract tourists who have limited time at hand but wish to explore Mumbai and other parts of the state quickly. The helicopters will take off from Juhu Aerodrome every day for a 10 minute joyride. The cost will be INR 3200 (inclusive of taxes) per passenger and for an incredible experience. This is the first time that something of this sort is being introduced in India. Heli-Tours will be conducted on a regular basis offering tourists a completely different experience. Initially, only Mumbai scenic tours will be introduced followed later on by Heli-Tours to Elephanta Island, Ajanta Caves, Ellora caves and subsequently also to Shirdi. The joyride for tourists will be open from 3 p.m. on the same day, i.e., January 07th, 2016. There should be minimum 4 passengers booking needed for takeoff. For infants I.e till age of 2 years there are no charges. Above 2 years the cost for each ride would be Rs. 3200 per person. Also the tourist has to carry his identity card.

Speaking on this occasion, Shri Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia (I.A.S) – Managing Director – Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. said, “Heli-Tourism in Maharashtra opens up a world of new possibilities for travellers and sightseers.
