Pune police traces woman found begging with ‘different’ child in Koregaon Park

Pune – After photo of a young woman went viral on Facebook after it was posted in PULA – Pune Ladies group, officials from Pune city police traced her on Thursday evening. Police have taken action against the woman and parents of the child. They are relatives.

Since last week the photo was being widely circulated on WhatsApp and Facebook, as the woman fled when asked about the name of the child. The cops acted suo motu and also shared the photo among their staffs. Police sub inspector Mohini Dongare of Khadki police station received tip-off that the woman is seen in Khadki Bazar area. Accordingly, a team went there nabbed the woman alongwith the child at Church traffic signal.

They were taken to Khadki police station. When the police questioned her about the child, the woman said that he belonged to her relative. Soon, the parents of the child were also summoned. The parents said that they had willingly given the child to her so that she gets sympathy of people who will give her more alms.

Police have identified the woman as Megha Nimhan Bhosale (19), and the child’s parents as Vijay Sarjan Pawar (22) and Shalna Vijay Pawar. They were booked under sections of the Prevention of Begging Act and produced before a court for taking them to a shelter home.
