Vocalist Upendra Bhat to present Bandish compositions popularized by Pt. Bhimsen Joshi

Pune, September 29, 2018 :The famous Bandish compositions which are specially known to be popularized by the great classical vocalist Pt. Bhimsen Joshi are going to be presented by his disciple renowned vocalist Upendra Bhat.
The event ‘Bhimseni Bandishi’, organized by Arya Sangit Prasarak Mandal will take place on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Sawai Gandharva Smarak, Ganeshkhind Rd, Shivajinagar, at 6 pm. The entry to the event is open for all.
In the program, Upendra Bhat will create the nostalgia by presenting different Bandish compositions which are specially known for Pt. Bhimsen Joshi’s then enchanting performances. The Bandish of different Ragas including Marwa, PuriyaDhanashri, Yaman Kalyan, Shudhha Kalyan, Durga, Kedar, Darbari, Malkans and Abhogi will be presented. Along with the performance, Upendra Bhat will unfold some memories of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and elaborate the characteristics of every Bandish. He will be accompanied by Avinash Dighe (Samwadini) and Sachin Pavgi (Tabla).
