Pune – About 92 persons, who have applied for passport but have not paid the traffic rule violation fine, will find it difficult to get the passport, Pune police said on Saturday.

In the four days between August 26 and 30, police sent details of 92 passport applicants against whom traffic violations fines are pending.

There are over 1200 cameras at important traffic signals in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Policemen sitting at the CCTV control room at police commissioner office, issue e-challan with the help of CCTV footages. People are sent messages on their phone with photo of the traffic violations. However, as RTO data does not have details of all the vehicle owners, therefore many people don’t get messages.

Police have appealed people to visit punetrafficop.net to find out if their vehicle number has any violations and pay fine online.
