Canon India expands retail footprint in Pune with new Gen-Z version

June 8th, 2018:Canon India, one of the leading organizations in the imaging space, further expanded its retail outreach today with the inauguration of its 252ndCanon Image Square in the country.Located atShop No. 4, Asmani Plaza, Good Luck Chowk, FC Road, Pune, the Canon Image Square was launched in the presence of Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India.

Canon takes pride in being a complete 360 degree imaging solutions provider, with its input to output product expertise. Canon Image Square (CIS) are experiential storeswhere customers can have complete hands on experience of the products before they buy a product. These stores provide comprehensive range of photography and home printing solutions along with a range of Inkjet/Laser printers and cartridges.

Canon India had introducedthe Gen-Z version of these retail stores– Canon Image Square 3.0, earlier this year in India. The retail model marks a significant milestone in Canon’s India journey, and its transition from an experiential model to an ‘experiential imaging destination’.

Commenting on the launch today, Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India said, “It gives us immense pride to expand our footprint in the country with an objective to bring forth innovation and delight for our customers. This launch is in further alignment with our future growth plans; including retail expansion and deeper regional penetration into Tier-II, III and IV cities. With this launch, we are gradually advancing towards our vision of opening 280 CIS stores by the end of this year.”

Expressing his delight, Mr. Eddie Udagawa, Vice President, Consumer Imaging & Information Centre, Canon Indiasaid, “With the advancement of our imaging stores across India, we have established a strong foothold in the country for all our customers. Maharashtra is an important market for us; our vigorous expansion in the region by opening our 30thCIS store is a testament to our continuous expansion in the city and the region. We have established our presence across 120 cities so far, with our CIS stores and further envision to strengthen this outreach. This outreach enables us to addressthe photography and printing needs of our customers by creating an interactive and informative buying experience for them.”

“Complementing our approach of being total solution providers in the imaging arena, our intuitive service ‘hd Album EZ, will also be available at this new CIS store. It would enable our customers to select the best design, creative and layout options for their images, which will be printed as photo albums for them on our flagship professional printing product, DreamLabo 5000,” further added Mr. Udagawa.

CIS store provides complete range of cameras, right from professional to entry level DSLR’s and attractive Mirrorless cameras and compact cameras in PowerShot and IXUS range. It also provides photography accessories such as tripods, camera bags, memory card, chargers and more. Among other highlights, CIS stores provide photo printing solutions and easy finance facilities such as EMI through various credit cards and paper finance through Bajaj Finance. The staffs at the store are professionally trained and are efficient in assisting customers in selecting products in accordance to their specifications and requirement. CIS stores provide regular training workshops for DSLR camera buyers.

Various innovative sales and marketing tools like live demo of the products, touch and feel experience, trainings and workshops has helped Canon’s customers to make informed purchases and strengthen our relationship across India.

With this opening, Canon now has 3CIS stores in Pune and 30 stores in Maharashtra thus consolidating Canon’s presence across 120 cities in the country.
