Mahindra Logistics strengthens presence in Pune

Pune, June 1, 2018: Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL), one of India’s largest 3PL solution providers, is strengthening its presence in Pune. The region is a thriving industrial and business hub and hence holds strategic value for the company’s growth.

Warehousing and distribution are one of the major thrust areas for Mahindra Logistics in this region. A new warehouse in Chakan, that is coming up soon, is part of MLL’s post GST strategy of offering strategically located facilities, to cover a larger area. This is the second multi-product and multi-user warehouse facility, after a recently launched one in Tauru Road, Gurgaon, Haryana. These warehouses will allow MLL to be near their clients and provide effective and efficient services to them. The warehouse will come with flexible capacities and tenure that will help better adaptability.

MLL has very recently tied-up with Mobike, India’s first bike-sharing company in Pune. Being Mobike’s sole logistics partners, the company manages their end-to-end logistics from warehousing to in-city distribution.

Mahindra Logistics continued to report robust performance on the back of healthy revenue growth in Supply Chain Management business. While its business from Mahindra business growth of 28%, Non-Mahindra business grew by 32%, led by revenues from freight forwarding, Consumer & Pharma, E-commerce and Auto & Engineering clients.

The Indian logistics sector has received a major boost due to various factors including GST implementation, infrastructure status by the Govt, technological advancements amongst others. The domestic logistics sector is projected to grow at CAGR 13 per cent to Rs 9.2 trillion by FY20 from Rs 6.4 trillion in FY17. Further, the third-party logistics space is expected grow at a 19-20 percent CAGR to reach Rs 580 billion by 2019-20 from Rs 325-335 billion in FY17.
