eHealth Card drive and Health Checkup Camp at Wadgaon Village, Mulshi

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) through Symbiosis Community Outreach Programme and Extension (SCOPE) Dept. in collaboration with Gram Panchayat Wadgaon, Mulshi, Tata Power Community Development Trust, NCORD Health and Primary Health Center, Ambavane initiated digitized health record system on 30th May 2018 in access compromised villages of Mulshi Taluka namely Wadgaon, Shirgaon, Waghwadi, Bhimnagar, Bhadaskhonda having a total of 800 populations. These villages are access compromised and one needs to travel by a launch in backwater of Mulshi dam for about 3 km to reach these villages.
Ex. Member of Legislative Assembly, Mr. Sharad Dhamale was present for this initiative. He guided Sarpanch Mrs. Archana Subhash Wagh of Wadgaon village to initiate this drive.
NCORD’s unique eHealth System would provide eHealth Card to all villagers that will enable them to store their medical records and access anytime anywhere when needed. These medical records can then be also accessed by all health care professionals to view patient’s health records and provide better treatment and diagnosis. Accurate medical history would facilitate quick treatment and reduced risks of errors in medication.
Under guidance of Col. (Dr.) Jayalakshmi N. Pillai (Retd.), Head-SCOPE, the staff of Symbiosis planned this mega drive and implemented the event. Dr. Sachin Raje – Programme Officer, Dr. Avinash Sarate – Mobile Medical Unit In charge, Dr. Samir Barve – Medical Officer, Mr. Sagar Bende – Medical Social Worker, Ms. Urmila Uphade – Staff Nurse and Mr. Abhishek Gholap actively participated in this mega event.
Taluka Health Officer Dr. Karanjkar and Mr. Dilip Kawade, Manager – Corporate Responsibility from Tata Power Community Development Trust were present for this event and supported whole heartedly for this unique initiative.
Under this activity, Medical Officers from Symbiosis and Dr. Chavan – Medical Officer from Primary Health Centre, Ambavane screened 122 individuals who had registered for this initiative. Under this programme, 73 patients were tested for Blood Sugar Level, Hemoglobin and Blood Group. All the individuals have been given print out of digitized health records and they will be provided e-health cards in next two weeks. eHealthApp was installed on their personal mobile phones and they were trained to use it.
This unique drive in these difficult to reach villages of Mulshi Taluka where one needs to travel by a launch in backwater of Mulshi dam for about 3 km was appreciated by one and all. This movement has helped to enable access of healthcare facilities through e-health mobile app to the people living in the vicinity of Wadgaon village.
