Medico Legal Forum for doctors
Pune 2 April 2018 : City based Shri Swami Samartha Diagnostic center has recently formed Swami Samartha Medico Legal Forum for doctors . A Panel discussion on medico legal issues was organised by the forum on Sunday to create awareness on the topic . Dr Ajay Chandanwale , Dean Sassoon Hospital , Dr Charudatta Mhaiskar Director Shri Swami Samartha Diagnostic center , Dr V D Kulkarni , Dr Vinod Agarwal , Adv Hrishikesh Ganu , Adv Vivek Dhamankar amongst others were present on the ocassion .
The panelists were of the opinion that while the concept of family doctor is on the downslide and the fact that the patient – doctor communication gap is increasing , doctors are also facing a lot of issues . Therefore they need to be aware of medico legal aspects .
The initiative of the medico legal forum has been conceptualized by Dr Charudatta Mhaiskar and will guide doctors on various medico legal aspects .
The discussion stressed on the importance of documentation for doctors , technical aspects related to various cases , bail , anticipatory bail , and also the recent judgement related to euthanasia .
The discussion also saw a large participation from Sinhagad Road Doctor’s Association.
