AICTE CII Survey of Industry Linked Technical Institutes 2017 ranked Suryadatta Institute of Management & Mass Communication (SIMMC) in Platinum Category

Suryadatta Institute of Management & Mass Communication (SIMMC) got the honor of being one amongst many Top Management Institutions in India, which is selected as Platinum Category by AICTE–CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes 2017.

The results of AICTE–CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes 2017 were announced recently in December 2017. Suryadatta Institute of Management and Mass Communication (SIMMC) has been ranked in the PLATINUM Category for the Third Consecutive year.

In the sixth edition of the AICTE-CII IndPact Survey in 2017 Institutes were evaluated based on six parameters viz Governance, Curriculum, Faculty, Infrastructure, Services / Project & Skill Development & Placements. A total of 130 well established Management Institutes all over India shortlisted in this year’s survey. The parameters considered included – Curriculum, Faculty, Governance, Infrastructure, Placements and Services / Project Skills. The Survey was done during 15th June to 31st August 2017. As per the National level categorization of Institutes based on their objective scored achieved, Management Institutes are grouped into three separate categories i.e. Platinum, Gold and Silver.

In all 9524 Institutes participated in Short Survey, 4790 Institutes were shortlisted for Full Survey, 774 Institutes submitted applications in Full Survey, 130 Institutes were shortlisted from Full Survey, 65 Institutes were shortlisted for further evaluation and 22 Institutes have been shortlisted for final evaluations.
The Report reveals that Platinum Institutes are involved with industry through curriculum, particularly through industrial visits for students. A significant number of faculties have received training from industry in Platinum category institutes while no such faculty-industry interaction was seen in Silver category institutes. Further, Platinum category institutes are far more likely to receive funding from industry towards the cost of their centres and units. Platinum institutes are also far more likely to involve industry in their Board of Governors or Advisory Councils and to report placement success for their students.
