Bank of Maharashtra organizes ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ activity to promote ‘Clean India’

Pune, January 31, 2018: On the occasion of Republic Day, Bank of Maharashtra organized cleanliness drive across all key branches and administrative offices in the country. The ‘Swachhta Pakwada’ initiative was today led by the leadership team of the bank – Shri. R.P. Marathe, MD & CEO, Bank of Maharashtra, Shri. Alekh Rout, ED and Shri. R.K. Gupta, ED, Bank of Maharashtra.

“With the largest network in the state of Maharashtra, we believe that it is our responsibility to promote cleanliness and a healthy sustainable environment. Therefore, it is essential that the initiatives we undertake have a long-lasting impression on people,” said Shri. R.P. Marathe, MD & CEO, Bank of Maharashtra.

In order to sensitize people on cleanliness, Bank of Maharashtra organised various activities across its branches in the country. The bank organised a ‘Swachata rally’ in Delhi, skits in Hindi and Marathi at Orion Mall, Panvel, and garden cleaning in Raipur.
In addition to this, the bank also created a film which is being showcased in villages and semi-urban centers to raise awareness about cleanliness amongst people during the ‘Swacchata Pakhwada’ fortnight. To amplify the importance of cleanliness, the bank sent messages through

outdoor activities viz. display of laminated posters on auto rickshaws.

“We want to highlight that cleanliness is a state of mind and not just a function of the body. A message in the visual format creates a strong and long-lasting impact on people. We believe that adopting hygienic practices in our day-to-day lives will help us in promoting a healthy environment for businesses and people at large. We have decided to involve all the resources in our capacity to promote ‘Swacchata Pakhwada’ and cleanliness in general,” Shri Marathe added.

‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ is being observed by the bank from 16th to 31st January, 2018 as an initiative of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
