Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Council Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar to inaugurate Youth Parliament

Pune : The 3rd Youth Parliament organised by the Sudhakarrao Jadhavar Social and Educational Trust will be inaugurated by the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar, on February 3, informed Shardul Jadhavar, Founding President of the Youth Parliament.
Jadhavar said that the two-day youth parliament is aimed at inspiring youths to take up social and political work as part of their career choice.
The inaguration function on Saturday is scheduled at 10 am at the Narhe-based Sudhakarrao Jadhavar Social and Educational Trust.

The inauguration ceremony will also be attended by State Minister Arjun Khotkar and MLA Bhimrao Tapkir.
On the opening day, Youth Parliament will honour Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar with “Adarsh Mukhyamantri”, Sanjay Patil and Dr Heena Gavit with “Adarsh Khasdar” award.
Also to be felicitated are Bachchu Kadu and Sangram Thopte with “Adarsh Aamdar”, Gopal Chintal with “Adarsh Corporator”, Rutuja Anandgaonkar with “Adarsh Sarpanch” and athlete Lalita Babar.
They awardees will be hnoured with a shawl, memento, Scroll of honour and Puneri Pagdi.

About 250 students from Maharashtra and Goa are slated to attend the Youth Parliement under the scheme of Nehru Yuva Kendra. Also around 2000 students from Pune, Kolhapur, Akola, Satara, Marathwada and Konkan regions are expected to take part in the event that has received assistance from the Commonwealth Youth Council.

In the first session “Take a Leap” will see the participants discussing various issues.
The second session focusses on “Developmental Politics” in which the Bharatiya Janata Party Spokesperson Madhav Bhandari, Dr Kumar Saptarshi, MLA Narendra Pawar and Senior Journalist Nikhil Wagle would take part.

On Sunday, February 4, the third session will debate on “My Patriotism and Your Patriotism, who is right”.
The member of Zilla Parishad Gajanan Ahmedabadkar, Datta Kohinkar and Ankush Kakade will address participants on the topic.
The fourth session will deliberate on “Empowered Youth, empowered India” in which Prof Nitin Bangude Patil, Maj Gen Dilawar Singh and Cabinet Minister Mahadev Jankar will take part.

The closing session of the Youth Parliament will have the Chairman of Goa State Assembly Dr Pramod Sawant, Minister of Agriculture and Marketing and the Opposition Leader of Maharashtra Sadabhau Khot, Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde speaking on “Casteism and Modernism”, ” informed Jadhavar.

Also attending the two-day Youth Parliament will be Rahul Karad, Popatrao Pawar, Dr. Sudhakar Jadhavar and Sureshdada Patil.
