Pune, 22nd April 2025: In a moment of pride for Maharashtra and Pune City, Archit Parag Dongre has secured All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024.

The results were officially announced on Tuesday by the UPSC. Archit, an engineering graduate from VIT Vellore with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, chose Philosophy as his optional subject. Despite a promising start in the IT industry, he made the bold decision to leave his job after one year to fully dedicate himself to UPSC preparation.

Archit completed his schooling in Mumbai and pursued his junior college studies in Pune, a city widely regarded as a major hub for civil services aspirants now. Known for its educational infrastructure, coaching institutes, and study-friendly environment, Pune continues to contribute significantly to the UPSC success story.

While the UPSC does not publish a state-wise ranking, Archit is believed to be the highest-ranking candidate from Maharashtra this year. He is no stranger to the examination, having previously cleared the CSE in 2023 with an AIR of 153.

A total of 1,009 candidates qualified in the 2024 examination. Shakti Dubey topped the list, followed by Harshita Goyal and Archit Dongre.

Archit’s stellar achievement underscores Pune’s continued prominence in India’s civil services landscape and serves as an inspiration for aspiring candidates across the country.
