Pashan, 21st April 2025: Three police personnel have been suspended for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 from the chairman of a housing society in the Pashan area. The incident, which took place during a night patrol, prompted immediate action from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Nikhil Pingale.

The suspended officers have been identified as Santosh Shinde, Pratik Trimbake, and Dinesh Ingle. All three were part of the special ‘Cops 24’ unit — an initiative launched by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to curb serious crimes through enhanced night patrolling. The team operated under the direct supervision of DCP Pingale.

The incident occurred on April 13 at the Shivalaya Society, where late-night construction work was underway in the parking area due to the delayed arrival of machinery. The patrolling team confronted the society chairman, citing a noise complaint and warning him that he would be required to report to the Balewadi police outpost.

According to officials, one of the officers allegedly demanded ₹5,000 to “settle” the matter. The chairman negotiated and handed over ₹3,000.
Following a complaint, the Anti-Extortion Squad launched an internal probe. The investigation confirmed the bribery, leading to the suspension of the three policemen involved.
