Two Arrested for Rail Roko Protest by Pune Youth Congress at Khadki Railway Station

Khadki, 19th April 2025: Two members of the Pune Youth Congress were arrested on Friday for staging a sudden and unauthorized Rail Roko protest at Khadki Railway Station, causing disruption of train services and inconvenience to passengers.
The incident took place around 4:07 pm when a group of Youth Congress workers gathered at the station without prior notice. They were protesting in connection with the National Herald case involving Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Robert Vadra. The agitators blocked Train No. 99813 (Lonavala–Pune local), raised slogans, and took photographs on the platform, bringing the train to a halt.
The local train was detained for six minutes, from 4:07 pm to 4:13 pm. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from Shivajinagar, led by an inspector, quickly intervened and removed the protestors, allowing the train to resume its journey without further delay.
Two individuals were detained at the spot and taken to the RPF post at Shivajinagar for questioning. They were identified as:
Rahul Gopal Shinde (28), resident of Model Colony, Shivajinagar, Pune
Vikrant Sanjay Dhotre (27), resident of Model Colony, Shivajinagar, Pune
During interrogation, both admitted they were acting on the instructions of Saurabh Amrale, the City President of Pune Youth Congress. They confessed to obstructing train operations and staging a protest on railway premises without obtaining proper permission.
Based on photographic and video evidence, a case was registered under Crime No. 64/2025 at the RPF Post, Shivajinagar, under Sections 147 (trespassing), 145 (nuisance), and 174(A) (obstructing train operations) of the Railway Act.
The Pune Railway Division has urged all political and social organizations to avoid such disruptive actions that risk passenger safety and disturb railway operations. Authorities warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating railway rules.
