IIHM Founder Unveils IIHM GPT, the First-Ever Customized AI Assistant in Hospitality Education

Pune, 9th April 2025: Dr. Suborno Bose, a renowned expert in hospitality education and Chairman of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), unveiled India’s first-ever customized AI assistant in hospitality education—IIHM GPT. Alongside this revolutionary launch, he also introduced his ground-breaking book on the role of AI in hospitality and tourism.
The prestigious event witnessed the presence of top bureaucrats, distinguished diplomats, renowned hospitality leaders, general managers of major hotel brands and prominent social figures.
Punekars enthusiastically applauded as they witnessed two pioneering initiatives by IIHM to revolutionize hospitality education: Dr. Suborno Bose’s book, an A-to-Z guide on integrating AI into hospitality education—creating a new “grammar” of technology and human interaction—and the groundbreaking IIHM GPT.
Titled Harmonizing Human Touch and AI in Tourism & Hospitality, this pioneering book explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and the hospitality industry. It presents real-world applications that enhance guest satisfaction, sustainability and operational excellence.
“AI is not just about technology—it’s about humanity,” said Dr. Bose. “This book underscores the importance of balancing technological advancements with the human touch in hospitality.”
The book takes an A-to-Z approach, where each letter corresponds to a key process, demonstrating how AI enhances hospitality while preserving its core human essence. Inspired by industry professionals who have successfully integrated AI into their workflows, the book highlights practical applications from global leaders. It showcases how AI is redefining guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational excellence—whether through dynamic pricing models, predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis, or zero-waste initiatives. Importantly, it emphasizes maintaining a human touch amidst these advancements.
“This book serves as an essential resource for students, educators and industry professionals, demonstrating how AI can complement rather than replace the human essence of hospitality,” said Dr. Bose during the launch event.
Outlining why he wrote the book, Dr. Bose said, “One of the greatest purposes of AI is to share knowledge with future generations. If we don’t give our best to the young people today, we will be leaving them with a very difficult future. The industry has been reluctant to embrace technology, but true progress is possible when technology and the human touch come together in harmony. This is the most exciting time for the industry. Tech and Hospitality are happily married now.”
Professor David Foskett (OBE), former Dean of Hospitality and Tourism at the University of West London and one of the first to read the book, emphasized, “AI doesn’t eliminate jobs; it enables professionals to deliver better, more personalized guest experiences. This book sets an example of how to balance technology with the human touch.”
