Pune: ‘Hirakani Run’ – Women’s Half Marathon to be held on Sunday

Pune, 3rd April 2025: Sai Janseva Pratishthan is organizing the ‘Hirakani Run’, a Women’s Half Marathon on Sunday, April 6. Thousands of women, including actress Sonali Kulkarni, will run for a noble cause—to support the bright future of orphaned and differently-abled children, as well as for their personal fitness and social awareness. This announcement was made by Suraj Lokhande, the Founder and President of Sai Janseva Pratishthan, during a press conference. Geeta Mohorkar (President of Sai Janseva Pratishthan), Nisha Pachange, Smita Bhise, and Vipul Sharma were present at the press conference.
Suraj Lokhande stated, “The marathon will be inaugurated at 5:30 AM at the hands of Datta Bharne, Cabinet Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Maharashtra. The event will commence from Baburao Sanas Ground, Sarasbaug, and will feature four race categories: 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km. Renowned actress Sonali Kulkarni and dietitian Saloni Ghuge will be participating in the marathon. Dignitaries like Kishori Shinde (Deputy Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation Sports Department) and Diksha Desai (Manager, Malabar Gold & Diamonds) will be the chief guests.
Geeta Mohorkar informed that all participants will receive a certificate, medal, and t-shirt. Winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes: 21 km Category: ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹7,000 for the top three finishers, 10 km Category: ₹11,000, ₹8,000, and ₹5,000, 5 km Category: ₹7,000, ₹5,000, and ₹3,000. Funds raised through this marathon will be donated to organizations supporting orphaned and differently-abled children, she added.

5 km Route:Sanas Ground – Dandekar Bridge – Dattawadi – Mhatre Bridge – Senadatta Police Station – Mangirbaba Chowk – Sanas Ground
10 km Route:Sanas Ground – Dandekar Bridge – Rajaram Bridge – Santosh Hall Chowk – Return via Dandekar Bridge – Sarasbaug – Bajirao Road – Sanas Ground
21 km Route: Sanas Ground – Dandekar Bridge – Rajaram Bridge – Santosh Hall Chowk – Return via Rajaram Bridge – Dandekar Bridge – Sinhagad Road – Sarasbaug – Bajirao Road – Sanas Ground
