Jamnagar (Gujarat), 2nd April 2025: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter jet crashed late Wednesday night on the outskirts of Jamnagar, near Suwarda village on Kalawad Road. The crash resulted in the death of one trainee pilot, while another sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.

The aircraft broke into several pieces upon impact and caught fire. Firefighters, along with IAF officials, police, and local administration, rushed to the site to control the blaze. Visuals from the crash site show a large section of the field engulfed in flames, with debris scattered over a wide area.

Jamnagar Collector Ketan Thakkar confirmed the incident, stating, “An Air Force plane crashed in an open field, away from civilian areas. One pilot has been rescued and is receiving treatment in the hospital. The fire has been extinguished, and officials are at the site to assess the situation.”

This is the second Jaguar fighter jet crash in a month. On March 7, another IAF Jaguar crashed in Panchkula, Haryana, due to a technical fault. The pilot had managed to eject safely in that incident. On the same day, an AN-32 transport aircraft of Russian origin also crashed after landing in Bagdogra, West Bengal.

The Indian Air Force has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the latest crash. Investigations are underway to determine the factors leading to the incident.
