Land Rover Launches Defender Octa in India, Priced at Rs 2.59 Crore
Mumbai, 26th March 2025: Jaguar Land Rover has officially launched the highly anticipated Defender Octa in India, marking a significant milestone in the luxury SUV segment. The Defender Octa, priced at Rs 2.59 crore, is now available for purchase across the country, with a limited-edition Octa Edition One variant also introduced at Rs 2.79 crore (all prices ex-showroom).
The Defender Octa stands out as the most powerful and off-road capable version of the iconic Defender lineup. At its heart lies a formidable 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine, delivering an impressive 620 bhp and up to 800 Nm of torque. This powerhouse enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 4 seconds, showcasing its remarkable performance capabilities.

The Defender Octa boasts significant enhancements over its standard counterpart, including a 28mm increase in ride height and a 68mm wider stance. These modifications contribute to its improved off-road performance, with approach and departure angles increased by 2.5 and 2 degrees respectively. The SUV’s ground clearance stands at an impressive 323mm, while its water wading capacity has been boosted to one meter, surpassing any other Defender model.
Visually, the Octa distinguishes itself with redesigned bumpers, extended wheel arches, a new grille, and quad-tip exhausts. Customers can choose from wheel sizes ranging from 20 to 22 inches, complementing the SUV’s imposing presence.
Inside, the Defender Octa features a luxurious cabin with new performance seats upholstered in Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather. The interior is equipped with advanced technology, including an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Land Rover’s innovative Body and Soul Seat audio technology, which synchronizes seat vibrations with the music playing through the infotainment system.
