Pune: Prostitution Racket Busted In Lonikand; Lodge Manager And Three Others Booked

Lonikand, 22nd March 2025: The Crime Branch police raided a lodge in Lonikand and busted a prostitution racket. The lodge manager was arrested for allegedly forcing a woman into prostitution.
The arrested suspect has been identified as Prakash Rama Shetty (32), a resident of Lonikand. Along with him, cases have been registered against Santosh Hegde, Prajyot Hegde, and Om Mane.
According to the information given by the police, Unit Four of the Crime Branch received information about prostitution activities at Sai Lodge on the Pune-Nagar Road in Lonikand. Acting on the tip-off, the police conducted a raid on Wednesday night (19th March). During the operation, they found that a woman was being lured into prostitution with the promise of money.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections, and further investigation is being carried out by Senior Police Inspector Sarjerao Kumbhar.
