Meerut Murder Case: Muskan’s Chilling Plan To Dispose Husband’s Body

Meerut, 21st March 2025: In a shocking development in the Meerut murder case, new details have emerged about how Muskan Rastogi planned to dispose of her husband Saurabh Rajput’s body after allegedly killing him with her lover’s help. The gruesome murder of the Merchant Navy officer has sent shockwaves through the city, with investigators uncovering a meticulously planned crime.
According to police sources, Muskan had been plotting her husband’s murder since November 2024. She purchased two knives for ₹800, telling the shopkeeper they were for cutting chicken. In a calculated move, she also feigned anxiety to obtain sedatives from a local drug store.
The initial attempt to drug Saurabh on February 25 failed when he only fell into a deep sleep. However, on March 4, Muskan successfully sedated her husband before she and Sahil Shukla allegedly stabbed him to death. The couple then dismembered the body in a gruesome attempt to conceal the crime.
Meerut SP City Ayush Vikram Singh revealed that Muskan had manipulated Sahil using an elaborate ruse involving Snapchat messages. “She made him believe that his dead mother had reincarnated and was speaking to him through the app. This was her way of controlling Sahil and convincing him to participate in the murder,” Singh stated.
The disposal of the body presented another challenge for the accused. Unable to fit the dismembered remains into a bag, they purchased a large blue drum, filling it with cement and sand to conceal the evidence. Laborers hired to move the drum became suspicious due to its unusual weight, leading to the discovery of the crime.
In a disturbing twist, Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, alleged that even the couple’s young daughter may have been aware of the crime. “Neighbors told us that she was saying, ‘Papa has been kept in the drum.’ She might have seen something,” Renu Devi claimed.
The case has shocked the community, with Muskan’s own parents disowning her and calling for harsh punishment. Her father, Pramod Rastogi, stated, “Muskan has lost the right to live. Such a person does not deserve to be alive.”
As the investigation continues, authorities are probing all angles, including a possible drug connection. The accused couple is currently in judicial custody as the city grapples with the brutality of the crime.
