Arpa Mukhopadhyay’s ‘Timeless Reimaginations’ Blends Heritage, Memory, and Transformation
Pune, 16th March 2025: Renowned contemporary artist Arpa Mukhopadhyay is set to unveil her latest solo exhibition, ‘Timeless Reimaginations’, at P.N.G. Gallery, Aundh, from March 19 to March 26, 2025. This collection delves into the fluid nature of time, tradition, and memory, inviting viewers to experience a compelling fusion of past and present through her deeply evocative works.
Mukhopadhyay, whose artistic roots stem from rural Bengal, brings forth a narrative that is as personal as it is universal. Influenced by her life in Mumbai and Pune, her work stands at the crossroads of nostalgia and modernity, myth and reality. With a keen focus on women’s lived experiences, she intertwines the delicate lyricism of Bengal School paintings with contemporary themes, creating a visual language that is both timeless and refreshingly new.
Speaking about her inspiration for the exhibition, Mukhopadhyay reflects:
“Sometimes, things aren’t what they seem.
Sometimes, dreams shimmer brighter than reality.
Sometimes, timelessness and tradition collide.
Sometimes, we slip between past and present and become part of eternity.
Can we escape? Can we transcend? Can we call this Timeless Reimaginations?”
