Pune: Planning Meeting of Programme Coordinators Conducted by SPPU Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension
Pune, 27th October 2024: The planning meeting was organized by the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The university’s officiating registrar, Dr. Jyoti Bhakre, and Finance and Accounts Officer Dr. Charushila Gayake were invited to attend. The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (formerly the Department of Adult, Continuing Education, and Extension), which has been in existence since 1972, continues to organize activities for various age groups, focusing on areas such as student empowerment, national integration, financial literacy, and tribal development.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Jyoti Bhakre addressed the topics of women empowerment, the current situation of women, and the improved opportunities available to them today.
Dr. Charushila Gayake congratulated the planning committee for their efforts. In his presidential address, Director and Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, provided a detailed overview of the department and discussed various programs aimed at empowering women.
Dr. Navnath Tupe presented the vote of thanks for the inaugural session.
In the second session of the meeting, Prof. Apeksha Jadhav, who has served as the coordinator of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension for the last 25 years, was invited to speak. She discussed how the department can implement its programs for the benefit of all.
Dr. Sangeeta Salve shared the journey of Lifelong Learning and Extension associated with the department. During this session, coordinators from various colleges provided updates on the programs being implemented at their respective institutions.
Both sessions concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Minal Bhosale.
