The incident, which took place around 5 AM, reportedly happened as a large crowd of passengers rushed to board a train to Gorakhpur. The condition of two of the injured passengers is reported to be critical.

According to sources, a delay in the arrival of the Bandra-Gorakhpur train led to a buildup of passengers on the platform.
