Pune, 26th October 2024: India has made significant strides in the infrastructure sector over the past decade, attributed to the goals and policies established by the central government. With advancements in metro systems, railways, industry, education, and health, the country is witnessing unprecedented progress, earning respect from developed nations. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that political stability is essential to capitalize on these emerging opportunities.

Jaishankar made these remarks during a lecture organized by the Yashasvi Group on “Current Emerging Opportunities at the Global Level.” The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Yashasvi Group Chairman Vishwesh Kulkarni, National Service Scheme (NSS) Planning Committee Advisor Rajesh Pande, and businessman Vishal Chordia, among others.

Highlighting the extensive development underway, Jaishankar noted that India is constructing 12 to 14 kilometers of railway tracks daily and approximately 28 kilometers of roads. Additionally, two colleges are being established each day, and new industries are emerging. “Developed countries view this as a significant investment opportunity,” he stated. Currently, around 1,800 Global Capability Centers of renowned companies are operating in various Indian metros, a number expected to grow alongside the nation’s development.

Jaishankar remarked that while some countries face war and tensions, these situations also present employment and business opportunities. He stressed that global opportunities start at home and require a skilled workforce. “Proper training for our youth will yield better manpower,” he explained. “With political stability and good governance, Indians will be well-positioned to seize global opportunities.”

He further mentioned the visit of a German delegation, which includes vice-chancellors, industrialists, and ministers. The delegation met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and committed to collaborating in various sectors, pledging to provide job visas for 20,000 Indian youth annually. Jaishankar announced plans to increase this number to 90,000. Since Modi’s third term began, numerous heads of state and delegations have sought meetings with him, highlighting India’s growing global importance.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Kulkarni, while Amrita Karmarkar served as the moderator. Savitribai Phule Pune University Senate Member Prasenjeet Fadnavis delivered the vote of thanks.
