BSF Deployed in Pune Ahead of Maharashtra Elections to Ensure Law and Order

Pune, 25th October 2024: With the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections nearing, the Border Security Force (BSF) has been called in to assist in maintaining law and order across all constituencies. BSF personnel have arrived in Pune and are being housed in the new hostel of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Maharashtra, located in Vishrantwadi. A coordination meeting was held today to ensure smooth operations during the elections.

In attendance were Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase, BSF Commandant Rajesh Kumar, and Deputy Commandant Manoj Kumar.

During the meeting, Pune CP Amitesh Kumar shared details about the police administration’s preparations for the elections, while Collector Dr. Diwase provided essential information regarding voting centres and booths across the city. The BSF Commandant expressed his commitment to ensuring a secure environment for the election process.

Also present at the meeting were Pune Municipal Corporation’s Deputy Commissioner Raju Nandkar, Additional Commissioners of Police Manoj Patil, Praveen Kumar Patil, and Shailesh Balkawade, along with Deputy Commissioners of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Smartana Patil, Sambhaji Kadam, Himmat Jadhav, R. Raja, Raj Kumar Shinde, Vivek Masal, Nikhil Pingale, and Milind Mohite.

Other attendees included Assistant Commissioner of Police Anuja Deshmane, ACP Pranjali Sonawane, ACP Vitthal Dabade, Senior Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav, PI Mangesh Hande, and several BSF officials.
