APS Khadki’s Annual Day 2024: Honoring Achievers and Promoting Global Unity through Cultural Performances

Khadki: Army Public School Khadki celebrated its annual day on 22nd October 2024 amidst great splendor and merriment. Brigadier PS Jyoti, Commandant BEG & Centre, and Chairman SAMC, was the Chief Guest of the event.

Marching proudly, the NCC cadets escorted the dignitaries to their seats. The program commenced with Anamika Talwar welcoming the esteemed guests and parents, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting.

The Principal, Rupan Jaswal, took the stage to welcome the gathering and shared the school’s achievements in her Annual Report for 2023–24. She highlighted the growth of the school, which now consists of classes from Nursery to XII. She also congratulated the high achievers who excelled in various academic, co-curricular, and sports events, not only at the Inter-School level but also at the Zilla Parishad and National levels. Additionally, she acknowledged the successful candidates who secured places in prestigious institutions like the NDA after graduating from the school.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was efficiently conducted by Ghazala Musavi. Meritorious students were called on stage to be felicitated for excelling in individual and group events across co-curricular and sports activities. Bhagat House won the CCA trophy in the primary section, while Gurnam House claimed it in the secondary section. Shivaji House took home the Sports Trophy for the junior wing, and Rane House secured it for the senior division. Bhagat House was declared the winner of the Champions Trophy, based on overall achievements in sports and co-curricular events.

Special awards were presented to NCC Cadet Viju Mate for winning gold in shooting and Vaidehi Hira Chandra Jadhav for securing gold in the Under-14 Girls CBSE South Zone Archery Championship and the State-level Archery Competition. Vaidehi is now set to represent Maharashtra at the National Archery Competition, which will be held in Gujarat on November 11, 2024.

The much-appreciated cultural program from the pre-primary and primary sections revolved around the theme “The Need to Conserve Our Water Resources.” It called attention to the pollution of rivers, seas, and oceans and its devastating effects on marine life.

The secondary section’s program, “Vasudev Kutumbakkam,” shifted focus to humanity’s optimistic outlook, celebrating the diversity of the world and the pursuit of global peace and harmony. The audience was taken on an experiential tour of the seven continents, with students dressed in vibrant costumes representing various countries. Skilful performances of skits, dances, and songs showcased the students’ talents, and the extraordinary props crafted by the students themselves were highly commendable.

The captivating melodies, rhythmic dance performances, and excellent oratory of the anchors earned praise from the parents and distinguished guests. In his address, the Chairman of the school commended the school’s progress, attributing it to the relentless efforts of the teachers and the enthusiasm of the students. He expressed his hope to see the school continuing to advance.

The Vice Principal, Poonam Thakur, concluded the evening with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks.
