Pune, 19th October 2024: With the code of conduct for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections now in effect, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has intensified its preparations. The party has begun holding meetings with activists and office bearers across the Pune area, setting its sights on contesting all eight constituencies in the city.

Although MNS did not field candidates in the 48 constituencies during the Lok Sabha elections, the party is now gearing up for the state elections. According to sources, MNS plans to field candidates in multiple constituencies across the state, with Pune being a key focus. The party hopes to gain support from voters who are dissatisfied with both the Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi alliances.

Party members are enthusiastic, and internal conflicts within both major alliances may lead to disillusioned members joining MNS to contest the elections. Sources suggest that the party will nominate candidates based on their competence and eligibility. Meanwhile, MNS President Raj Thackeray is scheduled to hold a meeting in Pune, expected to boost the morale of party workers and leaders.

Pune MNS officials recently met with Raj Thackeray in Mumbai to finalize their election strategy, and party activists have already begun mobilizing on the ground. MNS members are working to promote Thackeray’s ideology and party policies by directly engaging with the public. Over the past 15 years, elected representatives from other parties have failed to address pressing issues such as traffic congestion, garbage disposal, and rising crime rates, leaving citizens frustrated. Against this backdrop, MNS is positioning itself as a driving force for the city’s development.

Raj Thackeray has also confirmed that MNS will not form an alliance with any party in the upcoming elections. Sainath Babar, City President of MNS in Pune, stated, “MNS is the only alternative to Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi. Citizens will definitely support MNS in this assembly election.”
