Pune, 18th October 2024: An uproar ensued after a prankster posted on social media, claiming that bombs had been planted on three IndiGo planes. Following an inspection, it was confirmed that this was a false alarm, providing relief to the police administration, CISF, airport authorities, and the airline involved.

On Wednesday (16th October) at midnight, the police control room received a call reporting a bomb on board an IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Pune. Approximately ten minutes before the plane landed at Pune airport, the control room was alerted about the threat. As a precaution, the plane was directed to an isolation bay, where the rescue team safely evacuated the passengers.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) thoroughly searched the aircraft but found no bomb-like objects. DCP (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav stated that a case had been registered against the individual responsible for spreading the rumor at the airport police station.

The police investigation is going on.
