Pune Students Shine at Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024, Securing Three Prestigious Awards

Pune, 17th October 2024: Students from G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management (GHRCEM), Pune, have made a remarkable impact at the prestigious Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024, hosted by ICT Academy. Competing against 106 teams from across the country, three teams from the college emerged victorious, securing top honors and showcasing their innovation and technical prowess.

Team New Gen Innovators, led by Shubham Santosh Singh, won the first prize, earning a cash reward of ₹1 lakh. The team comprised Shubham Singh, Satyam Vishwakarma, Gaurav Shirsat, Preeti Devadiga, Sneha Kumari, and Shruti Varankar, under the mentorship of Hemant Chaudhari and Dr. Deepika Ajalkar. Reflecting on the victory, Shubham Singh said, “It’s a proud moment for all of us. Competing against so many talented teams was challenging, but our hard work and teamwork paid off.”

In second place, Team Concept Crew, led by Aditya Dandare in the field of Computer Engineering, secured a cash prize of ₹75,000. Aditya shared his excitement, stating, “This competition pushed us to think outside the box and solve real-world problems. It was an enriching experience.”

Team Power Rangers 2.0, led by Anuj Shukla and specializing in Data Science, won the Spotlight Award, along with a cash prize of ₹25,000. The team included Prasad Dhend, Kshitija Gosavi, and Vaishnavi Hande, with guidance from mentors Dr. Deepika Ajalkar and Dr. Arti Patle. Anuj expressed his gratitude, saying, “We’re thrilled to be recognized for our efforts. This award motivates us to keep innovating and pushing boundaries.”

The awards were distributed during a ceremony held at Barclays. Mr. Neelesh Sirdeshmukh, ICT Coordinator, and Dr. Swapnil Mahajan, Head of Innovation and Incubation, played key roles in guiding the students throughout the competition.

Dr. R.D. Kharadkar, Campus Director at GHRCEM Pune, commended the students’ success, saying, “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements at the Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024. Their dedication and innovative spirit have set them apart, and this accomplishment reflects the quality of education and mentorship we offer at GHRCEM.”
