Pune: Young Couple Assaulted and Robbed on Baner Hill, FIR Registered

Baner, 14th October 2024: A young man and his female friend were beaten and robbed while walking on Baner Hill on Sunday evening (October 13). The robbers stole items worth ₹51,000, including a mobile phone. This follows a similar incident ten days earlier when a student from Northeast India was assaulted and robbed at the same location.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, a resident of Aundh, filed a complaint at the Chaturshringi Police Station. He and his friend were walking on Baner Hill when they were accosted by four men, aged between 18 and 20, armed with sharp weapons. The assailants beat them and stole their mobile phones, earbuds, and other belongings.

Shaken by the attack, they immediately reported the incident to the Chaturshringi police, who registered the case late that night. Assistant Commissioner of Police Anuja Deshmane and Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi visited the spot. Sub-Inspector Praveen Chaugle is leading the investigation.
