Pune, 10th October 2024: Every artist dreams of showcasing their talent on a professional stage equipped with the necessary facilities, ensuring a rich experience for both performers and audiences. However, experimental artists often face financial constraints that hinder their ability to perform regularly.

To address this challenge, the Maharashtra Cultural Centre, in collaboration with Shriram Lagoo Rang Avakash, has introduced ‘Stage Is All Yours,’ a special initiative designed to provide experimental artists access to the venue at minimal charges. This initiative was announced by Rajesh Deshmukh, Secretary of the Maharashtra Cultural Centre.

“Many artistic groups from Pune and beyond aspire to perform in professional spaces,” Deshmukh explained. “Their requirements vary based on the art form, whether it’s a musical performance, dance, recitation, or visual arts. Financial limitations often pose a significant hurdle. With ‘Stage Is All Yours,’ we aim to support and encourage experimental artists by offering them an affordable platform at Shriram Lagoo Rang Avakash, located at Hirabaug Chowk on Tilak Road.”

The initiative has already garnered a positive response from the experimental arts community. Several performances are scheduled for the coming month, including the Kathak Institute’s presentation of ‘Choreography Kaleidoscope’ on October 21.

In addition to ‘Stage Is All Yours,’ the Maharashtra Cultural Centre is launching a literature-focused initiative called ‘Rasarth.’ This initiative will feature discussions on literature, recitations, and artist interactions. ‘Rasarth’ will take place on the third Friday of every month at Shriram Lagoo Rang Avakash and will be open to the public free of charge, with entry granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
