11 Two-Wheelers and Two Rickshaws Stolen; Cases Registered at Various Police Stations in Pune

Pune, 12th October 2024: In the last two days, 11 two-wheelers and two rickshaws were reported stolen from different areas, including Chandannagar, Chaturshringi, Swargate, Sinhagad Road, Lonikand, and Hadapsar. Incidents of vehicle theft have spiked during the festive season.

The rising number of vehicle thefts in the city is concerning. Along with two-wheelers, rickshaws, cars, and tempos are also being stolen. On average, four to five vehicles are stolen daily in Pune, with two-wheelers being the most commonly targeted. Thieves often steal vehicles parked in front of residential societies, educational institutions, and commercial complexes.

A case was registered at Sinhagad Road Police Station after a two-wheeler parked on the road in front of Yashada Abhyasika in the Dhayari Phata area was stolen. Kiran Kadam (38) lodged the complaint.

In another incident, a two-wheeler parked near Primrose Society in the Chaturshringi area was stolen. Rahul Galande (30) filed a complaint in this regard. Another case of two-wheeler theft was reported in the Pashan area, with two separate cases registered at Chaturshringi Police Station.

Additionally, a rickshaw parked in front of Venkatesh Hostel on Old Mundhwa Road was stolen. Parameshwara Ghule (22) lodged a complaint at Chandannagar Police Station. In the same area, a rickshaw left for repairs at a local garage on the Kharadi bypass was also stolen. Siddharam Balshankar (46) filed a complaint, and Chandannagar Police registered a case.

Other incidents of two-wheeler theft were reported from Sahakarnagar, Sinhagad Road canal areas, and Kavade Wasti in Wagholi.

Thieves also broke into vehicles in other parts of the city. In the Tilak Road area, a laptop was stolen after a thief broke the car’s glass. Similarly, in the Seven Loves Chowk area on Shankarsheth Road, a laptop and documents were stolen after a car window was smashed. Two separate cases have been registered at Swargate Police Station in connection with these incidents.
