Pimpri Chinchwad: Girlfriend Succumbs to Injuries Following Attack by Partner, Who Later Committed Suicide
Pimpri, 11th October 2024: A shocking incident unfolded at a hotel lodge in Kharalwadi, near Pimpri, where a man severely beat his girlfriend before taking his own life. The Pimpri police were informed about the situation around 4:30 PM. The woman was rushed to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri, where she was in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries later that night.
The deceased, 34-year-old Nitesh Naresh Minekar from Yerwada, was found dead, while his 28-year-old girlfriend sustained critical injuries and was in the intensive care unit at YCM Hospital before passing away.
According to the police, Minekar arrived at the hotel around 4 PM and booked a room. Shortly after, a heated argument erupted between the couple. Concerned by the disturbance, the hotel manager contacted emergency services at 112 and reported the incident. When police arrived and knocked on the door, Minekar initially responded, stating he would open it. However, after a prolonged silence, officers were forced to break into the room.
Upon entering, authorities found Minekar had taken his own life, and the woman was lying critically injured in a pool of blood.
The investigation into the case is ongoing. Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag, in charge of Pimpri Police Station, confirmed that the woman died around 10:30/11 PM last night. He added that Minekar had indeed killed her before his death, and further investigation is underway.
