Bopdev Ghat Gangrape Case: Pune Police Crime Branch Detain One Accused

Pune, 11th October 2024: A college girl was gang-raped by three men in the Bopdev Ghat area on the night of October 3. After days of investigation, the Crime Branch of Pune City Police has detained one of the accused, according to Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.
Kumar made the announcement during a program at the Pune police headquarters in Shivajinagar, which was attended by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He stated, “Over 700 police officers and personnel worked day and night to identify the accused. This morning, one of the suspects was detained, and the search for the other two is ongoing.”
He also mentioned plans to enhance security in secluded areas by installing CCTV cameras, public announcement systems, and increasing visible policing.
