Pune, 10th October 2024: Various national health programs are being implemented through the National Urban Health Mission. As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a rejuvenation program was carried out in all health institutions under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) during the financial year 2023-24.

In this initiative, 25 health centers were selected for evaluation. Among them, one health center secured the first prize, while two others were awarded second prizes. Additional health centers received incentive awards. The total prize money amounted to ₹15.50 lakh, with six maternity hospitals each receiving ₹1 lakh.

The rejuvenation program primarily focused on improving the quality of services provided by health institutions, as well as enhancing cleanliness, infection control, and other hygiene measures.

During the program’s implementation, each institution was assessed by an institution-level committee. Following the final evaluation, awards were presented to the best-performing health institutions, both at the municipal and state levels, in civic primary health institutions and maternity hospitals.
