The Anti-Gunda Squad has arrested Shiv Mangal Singh (38) and Somdatta Manmohan Dube (22), both residents of Chitrakoot District, Uttar Pradesh. A case has been registered against them at Sangvi Police Station under BNS Sections 103 (1) (punishment for murder) and 3 (5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, a person was found dead yesterday morning near the District Hospital in Aundh, which falls under the jurisdiction of Sangvi Police Station. The victim had suffered a fatal blow to the head with a stone. Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) Control Room was alerted, and officials from Sangvi Police Station and the Anti-Gunda Squad rushed to the scene. The Anti-Gunda Squad began their investigation by reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The footage revealed that the deceased, along with two other individuals, had arrived in the Sangvi area two-wheeler to purchase liquor. One of the suspects was seen holding a white courier package.

Tracking the movements of the group, police discovered that one of them visited a courier company at Krishna Chowk in Sangvi. Upon interrogating the company, the police obtained details about one of the accused, Shiv Mangal Singh, and his mobile number. The police began tracking the phone and traced it to Parner in Ahmednagar. They noticed that the location remained stationary for half an hour, suspecting the suspects were eating. CCTV footage from a nearby restaurant confirmed their presence as the suspects were seen exiting and entering a private bus.

Police tracked the bus and intercepted it at Selu Toll Plaza on the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra “Samruddhi Highway”.
