Ten-Foot Indian Rock Python Rescued in Maval Taluka, Pune District

Maval, 9th October 2024: A large 10-foot python was found near a house and was rescued by the Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval Organisation in Maval taluka of Pune district. Although the snake is not poisonous, it is known as the Indian Rock Python, which can grow up to 15 to 17 feet long. Previously, 15-foot pythons have been found in Maval. The Maharashtra Forest Department, along with organizations like Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval, often safely captures and relocates these snakes.

Locals spotted the python in a residential area in the Shirgaon region and alerted the activists from Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval. Santosh Gopale, Jigar Solanki, Ninad Kakade, and Sarjash Patil from the organization investigated the situation and successfully rescued the python. The locals also cooperated well during the rescue.
