Fire Destroys General Store in Lodge Building Opposite Pune Station, Residents Rescued Safely

Pune, 4th October 2024: A fire broke out at a general store in a building opposite Pune Railway Station on Friday morning (4th October), completely destroying the shop’s contents. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Agarwal General Stores, located in a lodge building in the Wilson Garden area, opposite Pune Station, caught fire around 4:30 am. Smoke was seen billowing from the shop, which quickly turned into a large blaze. Concerned citizens alerted the fire brigade.

Two fire engines and water tankers were dispatched to the scene immediately. Fire Station Officer Vijay Bhilare and his team were able to bring the fire under control after dousing it with water.

Meanwhile, some individuals were trapped in the lodge located in the same building. The Fire Brigade successfully rescued them using a ladder, ensuring their safety.
