St. Vincent’s H.S enter two finals of Loyola Football Cup

Pune, 3rd October 2024: St. Vincent’s H.S romped into two finals, while host’s Loyola H.S and Vidya Valley School took a place each in the Loyola Football Cup 2024 powered by Tata Autocomp and organised by ELAN (Ex Loyola Alumni Network) at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan, here in Thursday.

As a result the finals will have the Under-12 section contested between arch rivals St. Vincent’s H.S and Loyola, while the Under-14 section will have St. Vincent’s H.S lock horns with Vidya Valley School.

The Under-12 semifinals were totally one sided with Loyola H.S getting the better of Vidya Bhavan H.S 6-0 and St. Vincent’s H.S downing The Kalyani School 5-0 and setting up a traditional age-old clash.

Loyola H.S riding on a double-strike each by Kenneth Samson (3′, 33′) and Shaun Angre (8′, 31′) proved to be too good for Vidya Bhavan H.S. Rudra Pujari (6′) and Nived Nair (24′) were the others who contributed and closed the final tally.

Later, St. Vincent’s H.S aided by a brace each by Anvic Lobo (17′, 35′) and Reyan Punjabi (22′, 26′) proved a handful along with Ayan Raut (33′) to oust The Kalyani School.

The Under-14 results ended contrasting. Vidya Valley School downed The Kalyani School 3-1 and set up a final clash with St.Vincent’s H.S who edged out J.N Petite Technical School 4-3 via the shoot-out after settling regulation time without scoring (0-0).

St. Vincent’s H.S and J.N Petit Technical School played out a tight game which led them into the tie-breaker. In the tiebreaker, St Vincent’s H.S scored through Eshan Singh, Pranav Motwani, Samyak Bhandari, Ragav Pawar, while J.N Petit Technical School reduced the margin through Danish Gonal, Tanvish Khairnar, Rugved Kakade.

In the other semifinal, Vidya Valley School had Revanth Modak (24′), Rian Kogekar (32′), Daksh Partani (50+3′) score, while Infant Jesus H.S reduced the margin through Om Thakur’s (50+4′) effort.
