Sus/Hinjawadi, 2nd October 2024: A builder allegedly assaulted residents of Teerth Towers in Sus with a baton and verbally abused women with obscene language. The altercation reportedly stemmed from an ongoing land dispute between the builder and the adjacent society. Videos of the builder’s violent behavior have gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred earlier today when builder Yashwant Nimhan brought a JCB machine outside Teerth Towers, claiming ownership of a contested private road. As tensions flared, residents confronted Nimhan, leading to a heated argument. According to witnesses, Nimhan resorted to physical violence, striking several residents with a baton and hurling verbal abuse at women.

The situation escalated until marshals from the Hinjawadi police station (Pimpri Chinchwad police) were notified. Upon their arrival, tensions subsided temporarily, but residents insisted on a search of Nimhan’s vehicle. During the search, wooden sticks and bats were found in the car’s trunk, leading residents to allege that the builder had planned the assault in advance.

The police confirmed that the process of filing a case against Nimhan was ongoing late into the night.
