Loyola Football Cup 2024: St. Patrick’s Deny J.N Petit A Clean Sweep

Pune, 24th September 2024: St. Patrick’s School rode on a two-goal effort by Asad Shaikh to cut the easy run of J.N Petit Technical High School in the Under-12 section and prevent a clean sweep in the Loyola Football Cup 2024 powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Tuesday.

In the last match of the day, St. Patrick’s School were first to score (1-0) when Vincent Puttu (11’) found the net to give his team the lead against J.N Petit Technical High School.

However, the joy was short lived for St Patrick’s High School when Omkar Barge (16’) and Siddhanth Waghmare (27’) scored to put J.N Petit Technical High School ahead 2-1.

Changing ends, St. Patrick’s School had Asad Shaikh do the trick. He first scored in the 31’ minute and then converted a penalty-kick in the 41’ of play which turned out to be the decider for St. Patrick’s School 3-2.
The Under-14 section, later, had Yug Chowhan do most of the scoring, netting thrice for J.N Petit Technical High School. A goal in 13’, 27’, 50’ and a goal by Rugved Ghule (43’ – penalty) was enough to rip into St Patrick’s School 4-0.

In the first match, J.N Petit Technical High School downed St Patrick’s School 5-0. A double by Tanishq Nadeshan (8’, 44’) and a goal each by Naitik Pandey (12’), Manav Bhalekar (25’) and a single strike by Sidhant Salunkhe (35’) completed a 5-1 rout of St Patrick’s School.

Austin Hospet (16’) was the lone strike that stood for St Patrick’s School.
